Repair Windows Registry
Hi Everyone,
Welcome to Window’s Registry Repaired. The purpose of this site is to provide an insight into how to repair Windows registry. Often thought of as a black art, this site will help you understand the key elements of the registry, common problems that often occur with Windows registry and how to fix some of those problems. The site also provides some general tricks and tweaks to get your Windows operating system running more smoothly.
If you haven’t got the time, inclination or the guts (and it does require guts) to manually hack through the registry yourself, I have also provided reviews of the best tools available on the market at the moment. Each review outlines the key aspects, features and benefits of each tool so that you can find the right product for you.

What is Windows Registry?
Windows registry was first introduced in Windows 3.1 to replace the increasing numbers of system and .INI files used to store configuration information for the Windows system and other software applications running on the PC. This includes information about where on the hard disk to store files for an application e.g. MS Word or how much virtual memory (see article) should be allocated. To learn more about the registry click on the links to articles for some tips and tricks for improving PC performance.
When do you need to repair Windows registry?
It’s very difficult in Windows to know exactly when the problems you’re seeing on your computer are caused by a problem in the registry, but if you’re experiencing any of the following, it is likely that you’re problem is in part at least caused by a problem in the registry. Typical symptoms that include:
· Your PC increasingly running slowly.
· Your computer randomly pop ups bizarre error messages.
· You see errors relating to DLL files and ActiveX components.
· You are starting to get the dreaded ‘blue screen of death’
· Your PC takes ages to boot up and/or close down
· You’re PC just behaves a bit strangely
How to fix the Registry
There are a number of things that can go wrong with the registry and, with the right knowledge, it is possible to fix these problems by hand. Over time as we add more and more software and surf the web our machines become clogged and errors are introduced into the registry. I have written a number of articles on this site that can help you with the most common of these problems.
Having said that unless you know exactly what’s wrong in the registry, the sheer size of it makes it very difficult to isolate and repair Windows registry issues by hand. I would therefore recommend buying a good registry repair tool. I have reviewed what I consider to be the best on the market on this site, all of which contain the following features at very least: -
· Cleans out redundant, invalid, junk and duplicate registry entries
· Provides optimization tools to improve Windows performance including memory and hard drive tweaks.
· Scans and fixes your Windows system for errors
· Fixes broken File Associations, shortcuts, ActiveX components and DLLs files.
· Provides the ability to backup and restore the registry
In my opinion Registry Easy provides the best of all worlds and the price justifies the time often wasted trying to fix and speed up your PC by hand.
